St. Petersburg, Florida
The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Heart Institute in St Petersburg, Florida, is recruiting a faculty member for Advanced Imaging for our rapidly expanding program. The Heart Institute provides comprehensive pediatric and congenital cardiac care as well as pediatric heart transplantation. This individual will join a robust Pediatric Cardiology Imaging division that includes a Director of Fetal Cardiology and Director of Pediatric Echocardiography.
Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) is a 259-bed teaching hospital, ranked as a U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospital in 6 pediatric specialties (2024-2025) including cardiology and heart surgery. We have also been ranked again as the #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida. JHACH is the only US hospital outside the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. location that is part of the Johns Hopkins Medicine system.
Our institution is very committed to supporting candidates with interest or experience in basic science, clinical and/or translational research. Qualified physicians are eligible for an academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (rank is open and commensurate with experience).
The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Heart Institute is in a growth mode with current surgical volume approaching 200 per year of STAT category cases. The Division is on pace to read roughly 13,000 transthoracic echocardiograms, 1000 Fetal echos, 200 cardiac CTs and 100 cardiac MRIs this year with volumes expected to increase as we continue to grow. Our practice currently consists of 22 pediatric cardiologists, and we aspire to be the best program in the Southeast. Our clinical results have been outstanding, and we seek an experienced advanced imager who will continue to raise the bar through state-of-the-art MRI/CT work and surgical planning with Surgical Theater.
Candidate requirements include fellowship training in pediatric cardiology and additional training in advanced pediatric cardiology imaging, preferably in an academic setting. Responsibilities include joining a team of imagers (including radiologists) to cover MRI and CT 5 days a week, with time in the echo lab, on service and in clinic. He/she will be encouraged to build an area of expertise and pursue new knowledge with support for publications and presentations.
